FAQs
Will the camp be co-ed?
Yes, all GGC courses are co-ed. Camps will be split based on gender, talent, and age groups.
How can I determine if my child is eligible to attend Global Game Camp?
The question is not about eligibility, but about dedication to the game and the desire to improve. GGC places players in skill-based groups, so less experienced players are grouped together, while top players are grouped with other top players.
Is GGC only for specific positions in basketball?
No, GGC teaches the game of basketball, and any player can benefit from it, regardless of their position, as long as they are eager to learn.
How competitive is each session of GGC?
The level of competition may vary slightly, but the goal of the camp is development and learning in a healthy competition environment.
How do I know if GGC is worth it?
GGC brings the best coaches from around the world with more than 100+ basketball camps globally, and they have the expertise and quality to help players become the best possible basketball player on and off the court.
What happens if I do not know my summer schedule yet?
You can wait until you know your child’s complete summer schedule before you register, but the camp may be sold out by then.
What is the tuition fee for GGC?
The tuition fee varies depending on the type of camp, ranging from $494.99 to $689.99 for 5-day and 4-night camps, including meals and accommodations.
What if I need to cancel my registration?
If you cancel at least 30 days before the camp, you can transfer 100% of your camp fees paid. Cancellation within 14 days of the camp will receive a 50% credit for fees paid. If GGC cancels a session, 100% of the tuition fees paid will be credited towards a future GGC camp.
What does tuition protection provide?
Tuition protection gives a full refund if you cancel more than 30 days before the camp and a 50% refund if you cancel more than 14 days before the camp. Cancellation without any good reason within 14 days from the camp will not be refunded.
What safety precautions are planned for GGC?
Safety measures will be based on guidance from health authorities and requirements from host facilities.
What are the accommodations like at GGC?
The dorms are single-person rooms with shared facilities such as a toilet, shower, and chill room. Every dorm has a window, single bed, desk and chair, closet, and an A/C.
What are the meals like at GGC's residential camps?
Each college cafeteria provides a variety of options at every meal, and we request as many nutritious options as possible. Specific dietary needs can be accommodated by the college.
Will there be more sessions added to the schedule?
A 5-day camp with 8+ hours of basketball per day will be more than enough for most players. There will be the possibility to train more sessions in between lunch breaks or in the early morning/late evening.
What if my child gets injured prior to the session?
It is recommended that the child still attend, as the majority of teaching takes place in the classroom. An athletic trainer will be available on-site to provide ice and first aid as needed, and if necessary, parents will be notified, and the player will be taken to a local medical facility.
What if we can't afford the tuition fee?
If you are determined to attend a GTS camp but are financially challenged, there are ways to make it happen. Parents and players have done it before, and GTS is willing to work with you to figure something out.
Can parents watch any part of the week at GGC?
Parents are invited to observe on Sunday for classroom, film, and court sessions, as well as the opening Parent Meeting and Closing Ceremonies. Parents may take their child for a meal off-campus during the week, but otherwise, popping in and out during the week can be a distraction for players and staff.
Who can attend the Global Game Camp?
Sleepover basketball camps are typically open to boys and girls of all skill levels between the ages of 8 and 18.
What do the overnight campers need to bring?
Participants should bring comfortable athletic clothing and shoes, toiletries, sleeping bag/bedding, pillow and any necessary medications. It's also a good idea to bring extra spending money for snacks or souvenirs.
What kind of activities are included?
Activities at a sleepover basketball camp include basketball drills, scrimmages, and games, as well as team-building exercises, leadership development, and character-building activities.
How do I register for the GGC?
Registration for the Global Game Camp can be done online through the camp's website or by contacting the organizers directly.
What type of supervision is provided at GGC?
At GTS courses, the safety and well-being of each player is the top priority. For almost the entire day, players and staff are together on the court, in class, or in the dining hall. For overnight camps, staff stay in the dorm building with the players and ensure appropriate supervision and curfew checks each night. The players have limited time in the dorms, and there are three rules that must be followed, including not entering the dorms of the opposite gender at any time, not leaving campus unless it is with a parent, and being in their own room by curfew.
